In an email by the Strata Managers, directors were told they might have to be a special levy to pay for lawyers in a dispute that was going to VCAT.
At the AGM that followed, a special levy was not discussed or alluded to in any way, there was no financial report from the strata manager or from the Committee Chairman – but that is not unusual.
Was the special levy a bluff?

Wouldn’t be the first time a spurious threat of a special levy has been used to deter owners from taking legal action.

maybe it was just giving a ‘heads up’ in case it turns out to be the case, so they can at least say ‘they gave you prior warning’?
