Would you know what to do if there was a 72-hour power outage in your apartment building? What about the people who simply can’t climb up and down multiple flights of stairs?
In a personal emergency, can first-responders easily access your building to help a resident in medical distress?
Do you know how to use a fire extinguisher? Do you know where yours is kept? Does anyone else know either of these potentially life-saving pieces of vital information?
The Owners Corporation Network (OCN) is conducting a national survey to see how well-prepared apartment communities in Australia are to respond to emergencies and disasters.
The survey offers two options – one for ordinary residents, the other for committee members – and closes on November 30.
The results will be used to inform a free Emergency Planning Toolkit for Apartment Buildings (scheduled for release early 2024).
Go on – take the survey and see how crisis-ready your block is. You may be surprised, you might even be alarmed.
Ordinary owners, residents and tenants should click here while committee members should click here.
