There can be fewer areas more susceptible to rumour, misinformation and – let’s face it – ignorance, than strata law and by-laws.
You know how it goes. Someone has a problem with their strata committee but a friend’s brother-in-law had the same problem and they fixed it by doing such and such.
So the person tries the same tactic and gets nowhere. Grrr! It’s corruption and a cover-up!
But then it transpires that the friend’s brother-in-law lives in a different state in a company title building, either of which, when it comes to strata law, may as well be a different planet.
With that in mind, once again, we are setting out to take the friends’ brothers-in-law out of the equation by going straight to the real experts in our latest “Lawyer in the Hot Seat” session.
On May 30th at 2.30 pm, for an hour, JimmyT will be firing your questions at David Bannerman. Principal of our sponsors Bannermans Lawyers..
Topics under discussion will include:
* Design and Building Practitioners Act;
* Building Defects;
* Retaining walls;
* By-law disputes;
* Cladding
But we will also be asking a selection of YOUR questions which you can email to marketing@bannermans.com.au today.
And if you just want to listen in on the session, you can register HERE. About 300 people have already signed up, so don’t miss out.
NB: This was originally timed for 3.30 but has been brought forward by an hour due to a scheduling clash.
