Can someone direct me where this topic is please? I know it’s on here but cannot find it, but I do have further queries.
Is it up to each individual Council to have their own policies regarding the erection of real estate signs on their property? Does the agent require written permission from Council and how long can they stay up?
I reside on a prominent corner and am being swamped by these signs all the time. As we actually have a small real estate in our complex I duly attended his office when I first purchased the property and kindly advised him on not to place his signs on my property – as he was doing, blocking my view/airspace. He ignored my requests but eventually after him threatening me one day to call the Police, in which I replied to please do so, (prob wouldn’t have come anyway) he has finally stopped. This issue was raised at an AGM whereby it was agreed that ANY agent had to ask for permission first. But of course this was not formally documented.
Although this has not stopped other agents placing theirs up. The last one I simply rang the agent and it was removed the next day, no problem, but some agents are not always so compliant. They never place them at the other end of the building as that would be directly out the front of the real estate office here.
So my trouble is what can I do legally to remove them from the council strip directly at the front of my property? Which is of another concern as it obstructs the collection of the rubbish bins that are placed there weekly.
Can I remove them, store them in a safe covered area and kindly request the real estate office who placed it their to come and collect it?
