Hi All
Last year we received help from the forum in regard to an owner that had done none authorised renovations.
This included structural alterations and alteration to room function e.g. cupboard to laundry.
After a long process we final; as a way to move the issue forward, signed his 149b application to council.
The council inspected the work and found many compliance issues and would not issue building certificate until the work was rectified and complied.
One of the issues was fire safety as he had changed the configuration of rooms this altered fire safety requirements of the original DA.
The council has kept us updated on the situation and said they will forward certificate when he arranges the final inspection.
We have as yet not received the certificate.
The owner is now in the process of renting this apartment out.
Can he rent the apartment if the building certificate approval has not been issued?
Thanks
Slim
